MG-ALFA: Cloud computing and business transformation

At the 4th Annual Cloud World Forum in London earlier this year, MG-ALFA® global practice leader Pat Renzi gave a presentation on Milliman's implementation of a groundbreaking actuarial systems transformation solution for The Phoenix Group, the largest consolidator of closed life funds in the U.K.

Leveraging Windows Azure’s compute capacity, Milliman moved all of Phoenix's processes and modeling environments onto a single platform and gave users the ability to launch and monitor jobs from anywhere on any device. The streamlined system also resulted in significant cost savings.

For its innovative implementation of cloud-based customer solutions, Milliman received the 2011 Microsoft Technical and High Performance Computing Innovation Partner of the Year Award.
