The International Accounting Standards Board and the Financial Accounting Standards Board have already wrapped up some intensive discussions in their joint project on insurance contracts, and aim to complete their deliberations by mid-summer. In addition to making several major decisions, the boards have also set out a timeline for completion of the project. This paper summarizes the recent activity.
